Two intensive days at the BCT Technology Days 2026 in Willstätt are behind us.
The focus was on PLM, MCAD and ECAD, AI in engineering, and the current capabilities of the Siemens software portfolio. Fabian Kaspari and Dominik Brown attended on behalf of S-IT, with a particular focus on ECAD and wire harness development.
One development was particularly interesting for us: ECAD and MCAD are becoming increasingly interconnected. Siemens Digital Industries Software continues to drive this integration forward, including through the integration of Capital into Designcenter and Teamcenter. Electrical and mechanical engineering are moving closer together, while wire harness development is becoming more closely integrated as well.
Benjamin Bargetzi's keynote on artificial intelligence and neuroscience also provided new perspectives on AI. Looking beyond the technology itself highlighted just how diverse the current developments around AI are.
We would like to thank BCT Technology AG for organizing the event and all participants for the valuable exchange.
